libapm1 software package provides Library for interacting with APM driver in kernel, you can install in your Debian 8 (Jessie) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install libapm1
libapm1 is installed in your system.
Make ensure the libapm1 package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep libapm1 *
You will get with libapm1 package name, version, architecture and description in a table
